Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in love, life and everything in between. Hope you have a nice stay!

Shoot Your Shot

2020 is the pits, and I don’t see us being able to go out in groups for events, vacations, etc. and as I told y’all last week dating apps are the worse so how are us single gals and guys supposed to meet anyone?

Hop in some DMs and shoot your shot! Start trying to engage with your crush. Now I myself have never taken a shot really I’m to shy, but I decided to do some research to figure out how to do this. It may or may not work, but doesn’t hurt to try right. I mean the people say it goes down in the DM.

Check out my list below of how to Shoot Your Shot:

  • Check out their page first to make sure they aren’t married or in a relationship. It may take some time but worth it because you don’t want anyone’s husband or wife getting you together.

  • Make sure you are following them.

  • Comment on a pic. If they respond back, try to keep the conversation going.

  • If going straight to the DM don’t be to forward or sexual. Baby steps. Try a simple “Hey, how are you?”

  • Make sure and ask open-ended questions.

  • Do not add a lot of emojis. Not until you get to know them. Everyone doesn’t love a whole emoji conversation. Shocking I know.

  • Try and find something you both connect with. This should help to get a conversation started.

  • Respond to their stories. Easy way to start a conversation.

  • Figure out something they are really good at or really like and ask questions but make sure you are generally interested or it might come back and bite you.

  • Compliment them on something non-physical.

  • Make it funny. Send a funny meme that they can relate to. You have studied their page you know a lot about them.

  • Ask a friend for help connecting you with someone. It hasn’t worked for me, but I still say try it.

  • Don’t hop into six or seven DMs. Pace yourself.

  • Remember, people take a screenshot of everything so watch what you say. It can come back to haunt you and for the love of God don’t send pics. You know the kind I’m talking about.

  • If they don’t respond dust your shoulders off and try again. It’s their loss.

This concludes my Ted Talk on shooting your shot. Please feel free to add to my list. Or if you did it and it worked please share that story too. If 2020 has taught us anything, it’s that anything can happen so why not take a chance? Yes, I’m talking to myself too.
